In July 2018, Chris Packham organised a UK Bioblitz, where he and his team of experts visited 50 wildlife sites about the UK. During his travels, we were lucky to have him visit two of our project sites, meet with the local wardens and reserves managers and learn why these nature reserves are so important. Coquet Island's Paul Morrison shares the story on how the RSPB kept roseate terns from going extinct as a British breeding bird and how the title 'rarest breeding seabird in UK' can unfortunately attract egg thieves. In Wales, Chris Wynne, from the North Wales Wildlife Trust, explained how wardens at Cemlyn Bay, which houses the sole Sandwich tern colony in Wales, have been busy managing the site by putting up anti predator fencing to help protect the eggs and chicks.
